God And I – The Task We Share (Part 3)

Giving comfort to others and caring for them is God’s nature. And remember, God is the one whom we have to follow when performing actions. Why is it that God is such a merciful parent who does not spend a single second without thinking about the benefit of the billions of humans who face some trouble or the other in their lives? God wants to liberate everyone from sorrow and bring a land of happiness for everyone. Do you know that God is an intelligent energy which is not spread all across the world but He stays in the soul world which is a world up above and beyond the five elements of nature? Because He is the most powerful being, the energy of His presence can be felt by anyone who remembers Him, wherever they may be on the planet earth. This is because God’s power of thought is so strong that He can respond to anyone who remembers Him by sending out a vibration of spiritual energy and providing help to that particular person. Because He is the purest and most powerful being that exists, God can do this for the more than 7 billion people of the world at one time.

If someone were to ask what does God do the whole day? This is one important thing that God does – taking care of the whole world and answering each human being’s prayer. Of course, to what extent He does that for each one of us depends on the cleanliness of our hearts and how much we love Him, remember Him, respect Him and follow a lifestyle full of thoughts, words and actions which He likes. So this is God’s service. Do I as God’s child think of ever following Him in this task that He performs the whole day? Serving others in the same way as God is my responsibility towards the world. I need to fulfill that responsibility in different ways.

To stamp every thought with the stamp of determination is to be victorious.

Projection:When there is determination in thoughts, there is naturally the ability to give the best in spite of all the obstacles. Situations will not deter such a person from achieving what he set out to. And so there is naturally constant victory for the one who is always determined.

Solution: When there is determination in my thoughts, I am never afraid, whatever happens. In fact obstacles only serve to strengthen determination. I never give up what I have started. It is determination that enables me to add power to my thoughts and make them practical.

God And I – The Task We Share (Part 2)

Service of others is something which we have been taught right from the time when we were small children. At that time our parents used to take us to the temple and teach us to put a few rupees from our pocket money into the temple money box. Do you remember the time when your mother gave you five rupees to donate to the school fund for the blind or for the deaf? Also sometimes your father bought you a bag full of coins to give each day to the nearby store which was collecting funds for little children with polio or those who were orphans. All this was taught to us when we were small. But, as we grew up, and became busy in our studies and grew into adults, these good giving habits were forgotten. We thought this was not something very important and we have the rest of our lives to do the same. Do you know that in our previous births, in traditional India, we all have donated lots of money and ornaments (jewelry) in temples in the name of God? This used to be a fixed tradition and a part of our worship. The traditional India in which remembrance of God started, saw kings and queens belonging to different states performing punya karma like donation. This was done to please God and also to make one’s own good destiny. That was the old India. And we are talking about a few thousands of years from now.

The India now and the world in general today have forgotten those old traditions because we became materialistic. As we all know, the remembrance of God today through different types of worship and the reading of religious books or shastras is no longer as popular as it used to be, especially now in the modern world. These traditions were followed by our ancestors who were not people different from us but it was us, in our previous births.

To be free from wants is to be free from waste.

Projection:The one who is free from wants is the one who is free from expectations. When there are no expectations, there is not too much thought about what is not there or what should be there. Since the mind is free from all these kind of waste thoughts, whatever is done is the best.

Solution: When I am free from wants or desires, I am able to always remain content. I can then appreciate and enjoy everything that comes my way, and do not expect anything both from situations and people. So the mind is free from waste thoughts and questions.

God And I – The Task We Share (Part 1)

Crossing barriers like a difficult exam or a challenge at work with a positive state of mind is something we have all got used to doing in our busy lifestyles. But what we need to remember is that that these passing scenes of life keep coming and going. It’s as if challenges in life keep coming in our lives and we have to cross them with determination and will-power. But along with the ability to be able to cross different situations, it is our duty to look outside our personal lives and see the world around us and see how people our suffering. Also, we need to look as to what we can do for them on each day and get them out of their sorrows. The world is in need of people who are ready to take time out of their busy schedules and live their lives in changing others into happier and more content human beings. When asked whether you would like to live a life of service, we normally say that’s for those who do not have a regular time table of personal and professional work. But at the same time, it is our duty that every day we spend a few minutes in the service of others and in making people happier and free from the pressures of facing difficult situations of the mind, body, work and relationships.

In this message series, we shall explain the importance of service which we can include in our regular life and become humble leaders in the field of service. This type of leadership in spirituality means taking a humble pledge each morning that I will touch the lives of others in different ways and make a difference to them. This does not mean that I do not take care of people who are close to me either at home or at the workplace and I don’t live a busy lifestyle. But those few minutes of service of people, whom I come across everyday at different times, will fill my life with their blessings, full of love and happiness. This, in turn, will make my personal as well as professional life full of success.

Projection:When there is the awareness of one's fortune, there is speciality seen in every word and action, because of wanting to make the best of everything. There is also the pure desire of sharing with others, which also makes one special.

Solution: When I have the recognition of my own fortune, and am aware of what I have, I find myself content. I have no expectations but continue to make the best use of what I already have, for my benefit and that of others. So I find myself being special and making my own fortune.

A New Journey With A New Personality (Part 2)

Famous personalities are constantly sought after, in demand and remembered by many due to their specialties, may they be actors, gurus, sportsmen, politicians, founders of religions etc. Even in our daily lives, we tend to remember people with more specialties much more than the rest. God is the most complete and perfect personality that exists, but not a physical personality, a spiritual one. There is no one who is more specialty and virtue-filled than him. That is the reason he is an entity or living energy or personality who is remembered the most by each and everyone all over the world.

The above types of personalities mentioned are physical personalities and are remembered by some or many but not remembered by the rest and along with their specialties, they definitely have shortcomings. Also, you might find it difficult getting to meet them even for a few minutes. God is one personality without any weaknesses and he is my constant friend, once I start my journey. He is one who, although being the highest personality, can be available to thousands making a similar journey at the same time, not because he is omnipresent (present everywhere) but because he is omnipotent (the most powerful) and the only being possessing this capability. So, a specialty of this journey is that the more I progress on it and the more time I spend with this new personality accompanying me in my new journey, I constantly see new facets of this new personality being revealed in my life, which keeps the journey constantly refreshing. This also keeps me wondering what is going to be revealed next. So, once this journey of exploration and discovery has started, there's no reason to stop even for a second and there is immense amount of motivation to continue and keep smiling!

Freedom means accepting the rules of freedom.

Projection:The one who wants freedom naturally accepts the rules that go untold. He is willing to take responsibility for all his decisions and choices. Such a person will never blame others but try to check his own mistakes.

Solution: When I take decisions with freedom and take responsibility for them, I am able to learn from anything that goes wrong. I'll feel light and free yet with a base from where I can work. Thus I find myself experiencing constant progress.

A New Journey With A New Personality (Part 1)

Anyone who shows an inclination in getting to know the Supreme Being closely has a fascinating journey in front of them. Spiritual knowledge is the vehicle in which I make this extremely interesting journey full of exploration. Without sitting in the vehicle, I cannot make the journey. As I sit in this vehicle, I am introduced to this new, multi-faced, peaceful, loveful and blissful character in my life, a character who is spiritually rich with treasures of knowledge, virtues, powers, happiness and blessings, a character commonly called God, by everyone.

He is a character who introduces himself as being just a point of conscient light, a form very simple and plain. Yet, hidden beneath that simple light, incognito form is an immense volume of experience, wisdom and depth, such that even a lifetime spent in this journey, in his company, does not bring you to knowing him completely. The more you dive into the ocean of knowledge contained within the light, the more you discover and the more treasures of knowledge and experiences you receive. Every time you make contact with this new found companion called God, there is growth inside you and there is an increase of peace, love, happiness and power inside you. It's just as if after you've begun this journey, you're never quite the same again. However much time you spend in his company during the journey, whether it be in imbibing knowledge from him or remembering him during meditation or even sharing the benefits of this journey to other friends and relatives so that they can also start this journey themselves and experience what you are experiencing; whether you do either of these for a few minutes or an hour, there's always an experience of subtle growth and development inside you.

The beauty of things lie in the ability to appreciate them.

Projection:Nothing is positive or negative in itself, but the one who has the eye for positive things sees only positively even when there is negativity around. Such a person is like a swan, which separates and picks up only pearls from stones.

Solution: When I am looking only at the positive aspects, I am able to remain happy. If I am able to appreciate everything that comes my way, even if it is visibly negative, I find nothing to be a problem, but everything becomes enjoyable for me.

Qualities, Virtues And Powers

Innate or basic characteristics are properties that are unchangeable. It's impossible to take the heat out of the sun or sweetness out of sugar. Heat and sweetness are part of the unchanging make-up of the sun and sugar respectively; they are the basic properties of each of them. In the same way, in spite of whatever I have become as a human individual, my deep basic characteristics are still the same ones that have always existed in me. It's my inner core of qualities that in fact inspires me to seek the ideal in whatever I do. The impulse to seek and to dream comes from my own store of innate attributes that is just waiting to be found and brought into practical activity.

The innate qualities of the soul are those that are the most basic: Peace, Truth, Happiness, Love, Purity, Power and Bliss. They are so basic that they themselves are the foundation of all virtues and powers. They are like primary colors and virtues and powers are secondary colors. Just as orange (a secondary color) is made of red and yellow (both primary colors) and blue is made of yellow and green, virtues such as patience, tolerance, courage, generosity etc. and powers, are obtained by mixing the basic qualities e.g.

Patience - peace, love and, power Humility – love, peace and truth Courage - power and truth

The aim of meditation is to emerge and enhance my qualities so that my behavior becomes full of virtues and powers.

To know the fruit of efforts will surely come is to remain happy and healthy.

Projection:To know that the fruit of my effort will eventually come one day is to understand the importance of making effort. Once there is this understanding, it becomes easy to continue making effort, which is like nourishment that keeps one happy. So effort is never stopped till what has to be achieved is achieved.

Solution: Knowing that my effort will surely be fruitful makes me enjoy everything I do. It makes me remain happy, keeps me enthusiastic and free from tiredness, even when things are not going right for me. My mental happiness and well being thus keeps me healthy.

Maintaining Your Self-Esteem In Relationships

In any relationship, initially it is a totally positive projection. There is a person who projects on to you all that is positive: you are marvelous, you are unique, you are indispensable, you are valuable. That positive projection generates a euphoric state, of bliss, of wellbeing, whereby you are flying. You feel loved, cared for, needed and valued. That positive projection lasts for a time until, with the dependencies and expectations, the negative projection begins. You should have called me, you should have told me, you should have come at this time, you should be more like this, you should be less like that, you should have done this or that.

With these expectations, demands and dependencies, that positive projection and flying state disappear. The other has started interfering in your personal space and the harmony that was there previously is lost. One needs to learn to have a positive vision of oneself. You are marvelous, you are unique; don't depend on them telling you so. This does not mean you need to feed your ego, but that you need to make the most positive emerge from within you. Resort to all your creative, positive, spiritual capacity, so that you do not depend on others having to project positive things onto you in order to feel good. On feeling good in an independent and autonomous way, you will be able to share with others peace, love and positivism. You won't be in the state of a victim but will be true rulers and controllers of your own life with solid self-esteem.

Projection:The one who is open to the ideas of others is the one who is able to learn from everything. He is humble and has respect for all. He has the authority over what he does, he is the master and is yet open to learning.

Solution: Even when my best plan and ideas are rejected or criticised, I am able to remain cool and light because of my regard for others and their ideas. Because of this I am able to constantly learn and experience progress.

Being A Jewel Of Contentment (Part 3)

Contentment comes with increasing your inner treasures and attainments. Whenever you have a negative situation in your life, the positivity inside your mind, which will bring contentment, comes by thinking about your attainments at that time and thinking about your treasures. Suppose you have a very difficult situation in your life, which is making your mind negative. At that time, think about the treasures of inner powers that you possess and emerge them in your mind, think about the good situations in your life, think about your relationship with God. Also, think about your relationships with people close to you and what positive experiences of love and happiness that you have with them and good wishes that you receive from them. Think about spiritual wisdom that you carry inside your mind, which is the key to solutions to all problems. Think about how if you are truthful and are filled with goodness, no negative scene can remain forever. Also, give your time to serving others in different ways. These are some of the ways of experiencing contentment, instead of getting depressed and feeling empty.

Also, looking at the future with a positive perception is one of the most important keys to a stable and content mind. To be disheartened and give up hope will lead you to sorrow and discontentment. Always remember that the more positive you are about everything in your life, the more sooner all the negative scenes of your life will turn positive. Also, the more negative you are about life, the more the negative scenes will become bigger and become a source of sorrow for you, because that’s how you perceive them. So, always think light, think good, think positive and be positive in every situation and be a jewel of contentment, who radiates happiness to everyone around, no matter what your life may bring in front of you.

Being A Jewel Of Contentment (Part 2)

Whenever a difficult situation is trying to influence you or in other words, you feel that you are somewhat disturbed because of a negative event, look for positivity within to support yourself mentally. Also, look for signs of goodness outside in everything and everyone, which will keep you calm and powerful. Very often, we let negativity influence our minds and this is the main reason of the reduction in our contentment levels. Sometimes the weakness of another person or a negativity of a certain situation can make us peaceless and also cause our perception and attitude to become negative. So, the more I learn to keep my mind positive by either absorbing positive information or by connecting it with a positive spiritual source, the more I am able to face situations in a detached way and watch it like a spectator.

Contentment is the most important quality in some ways and is the mother of all qualities. Where there is contentment, all other qualities are present. Take the e.g. of the quality of patience. The one who is content, is able to wait for situations or events to unfold and not be impatient. Also take the e.g. of tolerance. Tolerance will naturally be a part of your nature if you are a contented person because the more full and complete you are, the more you will not react to people and situations, if they are not as per your desires and expectations. Also, take another e.g. of humility. The more contented I am, the more I am free from ego, because I am seated on the throne of self-respect, stably and with strength. Self-respect makes me free of any inferiority and superiority complexes.

I will then never have the slightest feeling of failing, but will always experience success as a right, even if the result is not what I have expected. Being A Jewel Of Contentment (Part 1)

The most important aspect of our lives is living a life full of contentment and inner joy. We all want to experience these two emotions always. Although, both these emotions come from within, at times different situations of life tend to shake our stability and strength and we lose that inner feeling of fullness and happiness. Also, we lose that positive feeling that there is nothing more that I want from life and I am enjoying life to the fullest. This feeling is called inner gratitude for everything that I have in life and no complaints about anything. Always thank life for giving everything it gives you and don’t ever have any worries when life’s situations are a little different from what you expect.

And also remember, inner contentment comes from inner powers and where there are no unnecessary and negative thoughts and feelings inside the mind. Very often, if there is a lack of any of the eight powers - power to tolerate, power to accommodate, power to face, power to pack up, power to discriminate, power to judge, power to withdraw and power to co-operate, there is a lack of contentment and a reduction in happiness levels. Also, if there is any mental weakness due to any particular thought patterns, which emerge inside our minds or a weakness due to any particular deep sanskara or personality trait, then the mind becomes too attached to negative situations. Also, it cannot stop giving them mental energy. This makes the mind disturbed and it loses clarity and focus. This leads to discontentment.

Lightness comes when words are accurate.

Projection:Accurate words means there is nothing extra spoken. Whatever has to be said is said to the point. Such words being short are sweet to hear too and are those that never hurt others. They bring about the result needed accurately.

Solution: When my words are to the point, there is a lot of lightness experienced within me and my physical energy is saved too. Others too experience benefit through my words and so I naturally get blessings from them, which helps me move forward with lightness.

Understanding What Is An Angel (Part 2)

In Christian mythology, angels are commonly shown as small children with wings – this is symbolic of the fact that angels are very innocent and pure, untouched by vices like anger, greed, lust, ego, hatred, jealousy, etc. (so are children). The purity of an angel is depicted in mythology in the form of an aura of subtle light or a halo around the head.

An angel’s love for humanity is unlimited, yet it is completely detached as the Supreme. An angel experiences that whatever comes through it in the form of thoughts, words or actions has the effect of blessing other souls, as if it is able to perceive or judge immediately or instinctively what each soul needs and cater to their needs. This act of blessing others is depicted in the form of a magic wand. Angels are commonly shown with magic wands in their hands, with which they shower blessings on others.

An angel’s thoughts, words and actions are all serving others. An angel is a lighthouse, mighthouse, connected with the Supreme; it radiates the spiritual rays of light and might, the love, peace, happiness and power of the Supreme Soul, to others.

To have attention to accumulate is to experience constant progress.

Projection:The one who has the attention to accumulate each and every moment makes sure that he uses well his treasures like thoughts, time etc. Then, there would never be anything waste or even ordinary. Instead each treasure would be used for the benefit of all.

Solution: Having attention to accumulate makes me realise the importance of whatever I have. This makes me pay attention on even little things and I find myself benefitting from each moment and with each thing that happens. Thus I experience constant progress.

Understanding What Is An Angel (Part 1)

When I have the consciousness that I am a soul, a non-physical being of light, acting through the physical body, even others begin to notice. This is what the angelic stage is. By remaining in this angelic, soul-conscious stage, others will also feel a sense of lightness and upliftment in my company. Angels are thought to be mythical creatures who have a human form with wings, who are always in the company of God and help Him in guarding and protecting other souls. Actually, angels are human beings with divine qualities.

Angels are always shown with wings. One of the wings of the angel is symbolic of spiritual knowledge, which it has received from God; the other is symbolic of spiritual qualities and powers, which it has inculcated, through the power of meditation or a spiritual connection with God. The wings of an angel also symbolize the lightness and freedom of such souls. With such wings the angel flies constantly in the company of God. Its lightness and freedom is because it has no bondages or attachments in the physical world; all the chains have been broken. Because angels has the absolute and constant support of the Supreme Being they can be the support and protectors of many others, by sharing with them, spiritual knowledge, qualities and powers, which they possesses.

An angel is the right hand of God in the task of world transformation (change). The language which it uses to bring about this transformation is spiritual silence; positive, powerful and pure thoughts along with sweet words full of spiritual knowledge, all of which have the effect of uplifting others.

Projection:When there are good wishes combined with the words that I speak, there is love. Whatever is spoken with love has its effect on others. Such words are free from all kind of negativity, so they naturally have a lot of power. Only such powerful words can bring about a change in others.

Solution: When I speak with love and good wishes, I find that I am light, knowing that I have no selfishness in whatever I have said. The others too are able to immediately correct themselves. This also enables me to gain good wishes for having taken them a step forward.

Going Beyond

If the quality of my thoughts can influence my physical health, the atmosphere around me and my relationships, it will definitely affect my relationship with God. Unlike physics in which dissimilar forces (positive and negative) attract each other, the basic principle of spirituality is that similar forces attract each other. If my mind is caught up in cycles of negativity, the dissimilarity between me and God will create distance between me and Him. With the awareness of being a soul, a being of spiritual energy, spiritual light, I begin to have a certain amount of mastery over my own thoughts and their quality. Also, the process of finishing negativity is accelerated. Just stepping away from the limited consciousness of the body and bodily connections (not leaving them) stops negative thinking in the same way as by just putting a switch on, a light is turned on and darkness finishes.

If explorers had never ventured beyond their home countries, they would have remained firm in the belief that the rest of the world simply didn't exist. In the same way, if I allow myself to stay only within the physical and limited sphere of thinking, then I would declare that there is nothing beyond. It is when I make the effort to go outside the boundaries of my previous thinking, that I have the chance of discovering more. The quest for a source of love, truth and beauty – the Supreme eventually brings me to the necessity of looking beyond not only my own body, but also other human beings and matter itself. Through the practice of seeing the self as an eternal soul and disciplining my mind I create the possibility of discovering the existence and nature of God and having a deep relationship with that One.

To consider problems to be a game is to move forward with lightness.

Projection:Even when the most difficult problem comes my way, I am able to give my best when I understand the significance of whatever is happening. Because I never experience being subservient to the problem, I am always a master.

Solution: When I understand that problems are just a game, I am able to play whatever part I have to, externally. But internally I will experience lightness knowing that this is the part I have to play. It would be easy to understand the significance of the part that I am playing and remain happy.

Letting Go Of The Branches Of The Life Tree

A very common habit that has become deeply embedded inside us is the habit of possessing, to which we succumb repeatedly. We come in contact with different people, material comforts, roles, positions, experiences, achievements and of course our own physical body etc. on an external level and our own thoughts, viewpoints, beliefs, memories, etc. on an internal level etc. throughout our life. All of these are like branches that make up our life tree. Possession is like clinging on to one or the other of these different branches from time to time, as we fly from one branch to another, while covering our life journey. The spiritual point of view on this habit is clear and very straight forward. It is not possible to possess anything. If we do try to do so, we lose our freedom. To experience the freedom, we need to dare to let go of the branches, which does not mean to lose or leave them because the branches are always going to be there. We can return to any of them to rest or pause whenever we want. But, it is about being aware and alert, because the moment a pause on a branch turns into a stop, the stop turns into a brake and, after that, the brake turns into a blockage. As a result, like the bird whose flying agility degrades on a physical level if it does the same; our intellectual and emotional agility starts to degrade.

When we learn to let go of one branch at a time, we are always welcoming new positive and empowering experiences in our life, one at a time. Like the birds, by letting go of one branch, we are then able to spend the rest of your lives trying and discovering many other branches, one branch at a time, and so we can enjoy the view from each new vantage point. We can choose between a life of flying and soaring or be stuck on one or the other branch, seeing others as they fly past and enjoy a life of freedom where they do visit their life tree from time to time and their life does revolve around the tree but they don't try and possess it or any of its branches.

Projection:A hero actor is one who has great attention for every act of his. He makes sure that none of his words or actions are ordinary or waste. He ensures perfection in everything he does. This naturally brings the best out of him.

Solution: Since I pay constant attention to everything I do, I find that I am able to give my best. I am then satisfied with whatever is happening since I know what I do is not as important as how well I do it.

The Beautiful Personality Of God (Part 3)

Just like us, God is a spiritual energy with a beautiful personality of His own. His personality is so magnetic that people consider a moment of His experience as something very beautiful and a gift of many good karmas of many births. This shows how precious God is and how no human soul can be compared to Him in terms of qualities. So, God is a spiritual energy who has earned this type of respect from humans. They say He is God and He is expected to be the nicest. But, then even we are souls or spiritual energies like Him, but not as complete with qualities and not such a magnetic a personality as Him. Why such a difference between Him and us? This is because He does not lose His qualities because of coming under the influence of body consciousness. On the other hand, humans become egoistic or angry or lustful in the world drama which God, who is a very pure spiritual energy, does not experience at all. This is the reason why God is respected so much. It’s His nature of purity which makes Him so loveable all over the world and someone whom every human being loves to respect.

Whenever the word God is mentioned anywhere in the world by anyone, people look upwards. This signifies that He is the purest and the Highest of Highest. They also call Him the Father of Fathers, which means He is the Supreme parent of humanity. He is Supreme not only in His role of God but Supreme in His qualities. God is the most powerful soul in the world. His spiritual power changes the whole world into a place where peace, love and joy exist, which is called heaven. This is called world transformation.

The Beautiful Personality Of God (Part 2)

Being a loveful parent, God maintains feelings of world benefit inside Himself and always thinks about how the world can become a beautiful land of pure love. In such a land, as the saying goes, even the goat and the lion drink water together at one stream. This is a saying but what it means is that God’s role is to establish a world where humans and even animals live together in peace and love. Also, He fills everyone with so much love that they become like Him by loving Him and that shows in their relationships. Remember to love God, means experiencing love filled relationships with everyone. There are many people in the world who became sweeter individuals after they experienced God’s love in their lives. So, love for the Supreme Father changes itself into love for others in our life easily.

God never punishes anyone for his wrong actions but instead He showers mercy on each one and is always hopeful and positive that all His children will change for the good. This is because we all were originally pure and loveful and the present weaknesses are just temporary. This is the sweet personality of God and this is why He is worshipped and loved the most. Never think that He is God, so it is natural to love Him. No one is loved unless He is good. God has over so many years done a lot for the billions of humans and has radiated His personality to everyone. God also comes on Earth incognito when the world and its people require to be changed. He purifies human souls to make them become better individuals. His nature is experienced by humans and that is why God is remembered a lot for all that He has done.

The Beautiful Personality Of God (Part 1)

Have you ever wondered why God is respected so much and seen as a guiding light by all religions? Ever seen someone who says God is imperfect? Only some who have experienced some sorrow in their lives sometimes wrongly blame God for what has happened in their lives. That too only temporarily. Later everyone realizes that God can never be blamed for anything that happens in their life, because everything we face, is a result of our own actions. On the other hand, God only thinks good for everyone and never harms anyone. This is the reason why God is trusted by everyone as the most beautiful spiritual parent who is full of good wishes for His billions of children and will never bring them down in any way. They say that God has a thousand eyes with which He takes care of the whole world and keeps a vision of love for each one irrespective of whatever keeps happening in the world. God is the Ocean of Purity. There is no one purer than Him in the entire Universe. This is God’s constant stage which never changes. God never experiences sorrow even for a second ever. He is also ever peaceful, with no trace of a negative thought or a feeling in His consciousness inspite of all the negative events happening all across the world and violence also increasing. So God, inspite of being a parent to so many children with such different personalities, always maintains His pure consciousness. In fact, He serves the world while being in that stage. This is the beauty of God and this is the reason why He is the most loved one in the entire world.

So, taking inspiration from this parent, we need to change ourselves and become a child who is similar to his spiritual Father or the Father of the soul or God. That is in the true sense loving God.

Transforming The Other’s Anger

In meditation, when I connect with God, I absorb His spiritual love and peace, which causes my own original qualities, which are present in me, the soul, in my pure state when I begin the playing of roles through physical bodies on the world stage, to come to the forefront or to the surface, to emerge in the conscious from the sub-conscious. As a result, now, where previously there would have been conflict, I have a greater capacity to remain peaceful when another person behaves in an unpleasant way with me. I have the power to stay mentally and emotionally stable when someone provokes or insults me. This power is enormously valuable in life, enabling me to cool heated situations, and even remove another person's anger altogether.

Instead of focusing on the anger on a person's face, I focus my attention to the non-physical, star-like being or soul within the person, which was peaceful and loveful in its original, pure state. This increases my tolerance and acceptance power. Also, through my meditation, I am actively aware of the spiritual bond all human beings share, as souls who have a common home of peace, the incorporeal (non-physical) home, from where all of souls come and a common connection with the One Supreme Father, the Supreme Soul. Through this knowledge, I connect with the goodness in the other soul and my love for the soul is maintained. I realize that this goodness is a deeper reality than the anger. The truth is that if I can hold this soul-conscious vision steady for long enough, I radiate positive energy to the other soul, which works like magic and awakens the goodness within the other person. Then, my tolerance bears fruit and peace really does prevail between the two of us.

What Is And What Is Not Real Happiness?

Real happiness is not an external stimulation by watching an action movie or eating out or buying a new dress; it is not the result of acquiring something – whether it be a new car or a position, or of receiving some good news. True happiness is not relief from suffering – whether from an illness or a difficult situation, nor is it the achievement of a goal – whether personal or professional. All these are externally dependent, where happiness is confused with stimulation, excitement, achievement, acquisition or relief. Happiness is not all of these. You also know that happiness is not a future promise. It can only be experienced now.

So what is spiritual happiness - perhaps a better way to describe spiritual happiness is contentment. This comes from a complete awareness and acceptance of the self as we are now at an internal level, and an acceptance of what is at an external level. Sounds difficult? The highest happiness is bliss which can be experienced only when the soul/self is totally free of all attachment and dependency. Sounds even more difficult? But this is a spiritual understanding and definition of happiness, which is not difficult to accept and make a part of our life, once there is a deep understanding and absorption of spiritual knowledge, but spiritual knowledge which is accurate and complete in all aspects. Spiritual happiness is a direct result of spiritual knowledge. Without complete knowledge of the self, one cannot remain ever and truly happy (happy as per the definition above).

Projection:When someone has faith there are no doubts or questions about the self, others or situations. Faith also enables a person to see and understand simple things in life with a new understanding. It shows direction and courage to go on.

Solution: When I have faith, I experience myself to be lucky and thus receive cooperation from many others. I would also be able to experience success at every step. There is then no worry for me and am troubled less by aspects that keep changing around me. My thoughts then would always be positive and I experience victory.

Performing A Spiritual Audit At The End Of The Day (Part 2)

Yesterday we had explained how self evaluation at the end of the day is extremely vital to one's progress and development. A useful exercise in this regard is keeping a daily chart for about 3 personality traits or points and filling it up every night (lesser than 3 is also fine, but not more , because then you might feel lazy in keeping the chart after a few days and also you might lose focus and the personality traits may not transform as much as you want). You could either evaluate yourself with a yes or no or perform a percentage wise evaluation like 50% or 90% for e.g. We have mentioned below, some of the common traits from which you could select the traits to keep a daily chart for. You could incorporate some other specific traits (not mentioned in this list), which you want to change or develop, depending on your personality:

In the entire day, today; not only in my words and actions, but also in my thoughts:
- Did I see everyone's specialties and keep good wishes for each one, in spite of obvious weaknesses being visible?
- Did I remain free from all forms of anger, like irritation, frustration, grudge, revenge, etc.?
- Did I ensure that I neither give nor take sorrow, hurt, pain from anyone?
- Did I remain free from waste and negative?
- Did I remain ego less?
- Did I remain untouched by name, fame, praise, insult?
- Did I remain stable?
- Did I remain free from judgments, criticism, jealousy, comparison, hatred, etc.?
- Did I keep a conscious of serving each one whom I met?
- Did I bring the 8 main powers into practice and experience being powerful?
- Did I remain in self-respect and give respect to everyone?
- Did I practice being soul-conscious in actions and interactions?
- Did I take a one minute break every hour to reflect, meditate and control the traffic of thoughts in the mind?

To believe in myself means to make use of the opportunities.

Projection:Usually I give a lot of excuses for not doing things. My words are then 'if only...' or 'some other time'. So even if I have the capability to do it, my capabilities are wasted, as they are not used at the right time.

Solution: Whenever a situation demands something, which I feel is beyond my capability, I need to tell myself that the situation has come my way as an opportunity in order for me to use my capability. So when I believe in myself and my capabilities in this way, I will be able to make best use of opportunities.

Performing A Spiritual Audit At The End Of The Day (Part 1)

Our normal day at the office or/and at home is filled with lots of actions and interactions. On a normal day, without realizing consciously, we create almost 30,000-40,000 thoughts. So, not only are we active physically but extremely active on a subtle or non-physical level also. Imagine sleeping with all this burden of thoughts, words and actions which have been created throughout the day, many of which have been waste and negative in nature. What would be the resulting quality of my sleep? So it is extremely important to perform a spiritual/emotional audit or evaluation at the end of each day.

In a lot of professional sectors of life today, people recognize the need for reflection and audit, not only of financial records but also a general evaluation of the respective sector, to maintain and improve both the service to customers and the job satisfaction of people working in the sector. Checking my own behavior, as a daily exercise; not just checking, but also bringing about respective changes for the next day, enables me to continue to develop and grow, as a human being and in the quality of my work and personal and professional relationships. Have gone through the self-evaluation, it is also advised to become completely light by submitting the mistakes made and heaviness accumulated in the day to the Supreme Being. Doing this helps me put a full-stop to the same and settle all my spiritual accounts at the end of the day. I need to put an end to all commas (when looking at scenes that caused me to slow down and reduced the speed of my progress), question marks (when looking at scenes which caused a why, what, how, when, etc.... in my consciousness) and exclamation marks (when looking at negative or waste scenes, which were unexpected and surprising) which were created in the day's activities. Along with remembering what all good happened during the day, what did I achieve and what good actions did I perform, there is lots to forget at the end of the day, which should not be carried into my sleep at any cost. Disturbed, thought-filled, unsound sleep, will result in a not so fresh body and mind the next morning, which will cause my mood to be disturbed, adversely affecting the following day.

To be free from worry is to find the right solutions.

Projection:Whenever I am faced with a problem, I naturally begin to worry. This worry makes me have a lot of waste thoughts. I don't find the solution, yet I can't stop worrying. My worried and waste thoughts don't allow me to find the right solution.

Solution: The only way to find the right solution is to keep the mind free from worry. For this I need to first have the faith that there is a solution and I will find it. When I thus keep my mind free, my intuition works well and I am automatically able to take the right decision.

The Supreme Star Shines Above Us (Part 3)!

We are looking for something good and positive in our lives at every step. Have you ever looked at the world around you and seen everyone carefully? Everyone is living a life with a purpose. Some carry a purpose like earning wealth, having a good family or possessing a good degree and job. These are all short term purposes. They give happiness to people. But, they will not make you happy forever. The rush and the hurry, the running behind these purposes can at a later stage come back to you and tell you that you were running behind these things but forgot the higher purpose of life. Did you ever think what is the first real purpose of my life? To be a source of peace, love and happiness, based on my internal fulfillment. The job will come and go and the money will sometimes increase and sometimes decrease. The family members gave me happiness earlier but they don’t anymore as I struggle in my relationships with them. The degree gave me a good beginning to my career, but somewhere in the middle of my career, I felt something was lacking. I excelled in my friendships, but today everyone has their own life and don’t always have time to listen to me or they don’t understand me. I feel lonely. I was a sparkling success story, but my health deteriorated on the way. So, what does all this signify? Wrong life purposes!

So, what is my real purpose, beyond all these physical things, which are temporary and changeable and don’t give me permanent happiness? To be … To be peace, love, happiness and power, which I experience from within and not from friends, careers, sports, education and family. Then, what is the next step? To fulfill … Fulfill everyone’s wish for peace, love, happiness and power, but not through physical means, but by fulfilling them internally, which is permanent. And who will help me do that? My Father … the Father of me, the soul … The Father of all of us … He is the Supreme Star that shines above us and is always guiding us to this purpose through his love and support.

My words are effective only when my actions match my words.

Projection:Being detached I can see clearly the mistake of those around me and also give directions to them to bring about a change. I then expect others to listen and bring about a change immediately. Yet I don't find others changing so easily.

Solution: Before I give directions to others, I need to check within myself if I am implementing what I am saying. Only when I first follow what I say, will my words be effective. Also I need to constantly have the interest to improve myself and others will do that too.

The Supreme Star Shines Above Us (Part 2)!

Looking at the world around you, create a pure and positive thought in your mind that the world is my family. Carry a duty inside your consciousness that you have to serve the world. All human beings are linked to each other by a common bond of brotherhood. And just like we want good things for ourselves, give a few moments to share the invisible treasures that you carry inside your mind and heart with others. Perform this simple exercise throughout the day. Whenever someone comes in front of you, use your inner ear or the third ear as you may call it or the ear of the mind to hear the other’s voice or desire of some virtue or the other. If someone meets you on the street, and you judge that this person is lacking happiness, then emerge that quality in your heart. Give that quality to the person through your smile and pleasant behavior and your inner joyful state of mind. If you go to your office and you meet a colleague who is disturbed and in a peaceless state of mind, then share the quality of peace and calmness with such a person through your eyes and gentle words. In the same manner, if someone in your home is lacking the power to tolerate negative situations, provide support to that person through your inner stable state of mind and powerful energy. This is called being a constant giver or one who fulfills everyone’s wishes.

Of course, all these qualities come inside you immensely, when you keep God as your constant companion. God is the Guiding Star under whose canopy we all live and all that we wish for ourselves and for others, will come to us and them by being connected with God on a mental level. This is because the more we love God, the more full with qualities we will become and also we will fill others with the same. And the more everyone becomes fuller inside, their health, wealth, relationships and roles will improve.

To consider myself to be big means to have a generous heart.

Projection:When I consider myself to be big, I usually want others to give me respect and listen to me. But not always do I find others listening to me, I am then disappointed and try to use more of my authority in a forceful way.

Solution: To be big means not to expect to take but to be a giver. I understand that since I am in a better position, I need to give. This attitude will help me get others' good wishes and I continue to achieve success.

The Supreme Star Shines Above Us (Part 1)!

Life is a beautiful journey, in which we are always surrounded by many people and we wish for good things for others as well as ourselves. Yes, sometimes, all that we wish for everyone is fulfilled and sometimes it is not. It is worth wondering that everyone wants good not only for their loved ones but for each and everyone in the world. Yet at times it can happen that all the good that we feel everyone deserves does not come to them or comes a little late. Do we wish for the same things for each other? Yes, at times. In fact, most of the time. After all, all of us desire the same good things in life – love, joy and peace on a spiritual level and health, wealth and success in our roles and relationships on a physical level. We are souls or beings who have played many beautiful roles with each other in many past lives or births. And, while doing that, we experienced many pure love filled relationships. God is the Supreme Star of spiritual light, the Spiritual Parent, whom we all look upto and wish for good things in this life. We do this not only for ourselves but for all the souls of the world, which is our world family, with which we are connected eternally.

God fills us with the knowledge and strength to fulfill these wishes of happiness for each other and for ourselves. Let’s embark on a journey in reaching out to each and every soul in the world and fulfill this task. God, the Supreme Star shines above us, under whose guidance, we can do this.

To see things as they are is to be free from the influence of my own weaknesses.

Projection:Sometimes I find myself reacting to even small situations. I also find my feelings being dependent on the different situations I face. I do try to change my feelings of negativity, if they do arise. But sometimes I am not able to, either because of my personality or the dominant personality trait working within me at that time.

Solution: If I have to change my reactions to the different situations that I am faced with, I need to change my vision, i.e I need to change the way I see things. I need to understand the situation as it is and not let it be coloured by my own personality traits. When I see things as they are, I am able to act in situations instead of reacting.

The Pledge Of Responsibility

A very important aspect of progress in the self and my relationships, which we all desire is restoring a sense of responsibility in my inner world, so that by doing that, I and others around me are benefitted. Even on a physical or non-spiritual level, someone who is responsible while playing his/her role or performing his/her duties either in the family, at the workplace or in some other setting e.g. a club group or a team in a particular sport or a social service group, not only feels content with his/her actions himself/herself but spreads ripples of contentment to others and receives similar energy from each one he/she is involved with. In the same way on an emotional or spiritual level, when I start my day I need to remind myself of my responsibility towards myself. I need to remind myself that I am responsible for the choices I make in my life which influence and color everyone around me. So do my thoughts, feelings, the way my personality functions internally and externally the whole day and my responses to people and situations, for all of which I am responsible.

It is like taking a pledge of responsibility with the self in the morning that today I will not create a single thought, word or action which is against the texture of my innate, positive nature i.e. irresponsible. And what will provide my pledge the much required strength of determination? An injection of positive thoughts, emotions and sanskaras within me in the morning, using a suitable technique of self empowerment like meditation or spiritual study or some other. By taking such a pledge of responsibility and by watering it with the energy of my attention from time to time during the day, I am able to implement it and can make a difference to not only the people around me, but to a lot more than that. In this way, as I change, the world around me changes, because the energy I create in my inner world starts flowing into my circumstances, my interactions, my sphere of karmas, etc. to make them positive, which benefits me in return in the form of a cyclic process. As I take this pledge and abide by it for a few days, I start realizing the immense potential that it possesses.

To be simple is to become an example.

Projection:Simplicity is mistaken as ordinariness. It is sometimes associated with lack of colour. So I am usually not so simple in my words and actions. I try and add on as much colour as I can in order for them to be attractive or impressive.

Solution: To be simple is to be like a seed, which is full yet simple. True simplicity is to discover and use these qualities that are within. Once I allow these qualities to flow out, others too are able to take inspiration from me. So I become an example for others with my own simplicity.

The Key To Beautiful Relationships - Unconditional Love (Part 6)

This is the last part of this detailed message series on how to live your relationships in the right manner and in this last part, we explain the method of becoming a good relationship manager. In other words, how do we manage our relationships in a manner that the other person in all our relationships is always full of love and blessings for us in his or her heart? Also we continue to experience that love from them in the form of good wishes which reach us in a way so as to fill us on a spiritual level.

Soul-consciousness is the way of living relationships spiritually. Spirituality teaches us that each and every human being in this world is a soul whose original qualities are peace, love and happiness. Also, each one is originally full of these qualities when they come down in the world to play their roles down in the physical world from the soul world up above. This initial stage of ours is called the soul-conscious stage, in which the soul’s qualities are like a fragrant flower. Also, everyone experiences these qualities from us, in all relationships. It’s when we started coming under the influence of negativity of different forms that the soul started losing its qualities and fragrance and it started looking outwards in need of these qualities. This is when the balance in relationships was spoilt and we starting becoming dependent on others for our love and joy. It is like the famous story of the musk deer, who did not realize that the scent it was searching for was from its own navel. In the same manner as the musk deer, we lost the connection with our inner selves and the method of accessing peace, love and joy by becoming soul conscious. We started looking for it from our mother, our father, our child, our brother, our life partner, our friend etc. The right way of restoring the balance is completing the triangle of spirituality, by including God as the one whom I absorb peace, love and joy from. I also become soul-conscious and access these qualities inside myself and increase them. And then I share all these qualities with others, instead of expecting them to give me those qualities of peace, love and joy.

The one who is moldable is real gold.

Projection:I find myself getting very easily influenced with the negativity outside. To get influenced is to take in lot of impurity from outside. This is like mixing alloy in gold and the negativity within doesn't allow me to get molded.

Solution: I need to keep myself free from the negativity that comes from situations and people. I also need to maintain my own inner positivity. Thus working with my own inner purity and positivity, I find myself becoming moldable.

The Key To Beautiful Relationships - Unconditional Love (Part 5)

Sacrifice in any relationship is an important characteristic or quality that one needs to imbibe to make it successful. Remember the one who only keeps himself or herself ahead without caring for the needs of the other in a relationship is the one who loses respect. Also he or she is the one who can lead in the relationship with the head but is the loser, when it comes to the heart. The one who gives up the ego to accommodate the needs of the other is the true winner in a relationship of love, which could be relationships involving any two people and in any type of relationship. We are not necessarily talking about relationships between life partners, which some people think, are the most difficult relationship to play. So, wherever it may be, the one who says I in every dealing is the loser at the level of the heart. That means he or she will lose the blessings of the other, even though he or she may be smarter and more skilled than the other and the other person accepts that also. So respect is gained at the external level by the egoistic role player but love and respect is lost at the internal level.

You must have heard this some time ago that to fear is not to respect, which happens with egoistic people. Egoistic people are sometimes respected out of fear because they are more skilled in many ways and good at doing many things of the world and also good at making things work their way. But, what they are lacking is humility and the way of winning people’s hearts. Remember, there have been people in the world who have been more successful because they were compassionate and sweet natured. They are not necessarily best at the ways of the world and being skilled and the best at achieving success on a materialistic level. Humble people are true leaders of people’s hearts and God helps them to achieve big, because of this quality that they possess.

To understand the importance of my actions is to create a fortune for myself.

Projection:I usually blame my fortune when something goes wrong. I either feel it to be unjust or curse my past actions which have brought me this fate today. To curse my past actions is to lose the present moment too.

Solution: Instead of cursing my past actions, I need to make the most of the present. Whatever I do today, I get the fruit of it right now and for the future too. So I need to pay attention to do the right actions always.

Loving God in the right manner is also an important aspect of our lives in which God is also just like all our other relationships, although a very important one. Playing a role of child or friend to God also requires certain ways of acting and creating thoughts of love for Him. E.g. To always ask more and more from God and not think of returning enough is also an incorrect way of being God’s close one. Also, changing oneself to become like God is being a true loved one of God. Qualities like love, happiness and contentment and even a clean heart and truthfulness make you worthy of receiving God’s beautiful sustenance and support when you are facing difficult situations in life’s journey. At these times, you need God’s help, without which you cannot come out of them.

Another important relationship with God is one of a teacher and a student, in which God helps us become full of divine qualities apart from spiritual knowledge of course. In this relationship, we need to realize the importance of the effort made by God as a Supreme Teacher. Also we need to realize how we should return all the energy and time that he spends on us in making us perfect human beings and lifting our spiritual intelligence to high levels. This is required to become pure and perform good actions. Another relationship with God which we sometimes forget to play is one in which God is like a child who takes care of us in different ways. He does this in return of all the care that we shower on Him and also all the respect we give Him because He is a like a constant spiritual power canopy on us. His eyes never stop looking upon us and protecting us from all the difficulties that we might face. Also, whenever you remember God as the Supreme guru, it means following all the directions that He gives. It also means having a stage of purity when coming into contact with others, which is a stage similar to God’s. This makes you worthy of His constant good wishes which keep you light and happy.

To have interest to serve is to get the opportunity.

Projection:I usually want to do a lot to help others or serve them in some way or the other. I either don't find an opportunity or if I do find them, I don't find the time to do according to my desire.

Solution: I need to keep the thought in my mind constantly to be of help to others. Then I will not just wait for bigger situations or things to provide help to others. Instead I will be able to extend my help to others in little ways.

The Key To Beautiful Relationships - Unconditional Love (Part 3)

Whenever you want to experience joy in a relationship, learn to love with a big heart. This is something we hear commonly, but what this means is loving without any fixed boundaries of how the other person should be with me. In other words, we tend to create so many fixed images in our mind of the other person’s consciousness, attitude, words and actions about how they should be, that we don’t let the other person be themselves. This happens to the extent that the other person will in some cases stop expressing themselves freely. Also sometimes their personality starts going into a cover which has been created by us and they will never come out of that cover for life in some cases. The meaning of that is simple that the other person becomes a puppet in our hands and he or she will do everything that we demand without ever thinking that they are no longer themselves. And who is responsible for that happening? We are. We create a person based on our personality. That’s in short a karma that we become responsible for. This is called a conditional love.

On the other hand, a love that is unconditional wants the other person, whom you love, to be themselves and a different person from them with their own personality, their own special strengths, skills and qualities. This happens in such a way that these qualities and skills complement your strengths and the two of you become a beautiful pair of people who keep each other ahead. Also, at the same time you focus on your own qualities and bring them into action. This is true love. Such a love, when brought into action becomes a beautiful foundation for a happiness filled relationship. In such a relationship, two people enjoy each other’s loveful company without interfering in each other’s personal space.

To be constantly enthusiastic is to experience freedom.

Projection:When everything is going on well I find myself enthusiastic and have the interest to move forward. But when even a little thing goes wrong, I lose all enthusiasm to do anything else. This creates a bondage for me and I find it difficult to move forward.

Solution: I need to remind myself that to be enthusiastic in all situations is to be like a free bird reaching great heights. That means no situation makes me like a caged bird, who has all the opportunities but does not know or does not believe in using them.
