Invoke the Shakti Within (Part 1)
A Special Message On Navratri

The divine vision, the royal clothes, the weapons, the unique chariot (vaahan), the hand of blessing and the face of dignity, love and law – Ma Shakti. Preparations for the festival involve creating the sacred space for the idol, laying seeds of wheat on banana leaves, above which a pot is placed from where droplets of water constantly fall. Garlands of flowers are placed in this pot. A diya or light is constantly lit. Prayers and fasting take place for the nine-day period. Looking at the spiritual meaning, these rituals speak volumes on how we can invoke our divinity.

(1) Shiv and Shakti means God and Soul. Each deity is a kumari (unmarried), but called Ma (mother) and shown with weapons to kill the demons. When I the Soul (Shakti) connect to God (Shiv), I emerge – Purity (kumari), Love (mother) and Power (weapons and demons). Purity, Love and Power is the quality of every soul.

(2) Shakti is with 8 arms which symbolizes the 8 powers each soul has - power to withdraw, power to discern or discriminate, power to decide or judge, power to tolerate, power to accept or accommodate, power to let go or pack up, power to face and power to co-operate.

(3) Shakti holds a weapon in each of the 8 hands and conquers the demons. The weapons represent tools of wisdom. When we use these tools, we finish the demons of lust, ego, anger, greed and attachment.

(4) When we allow the waters of spiritual knowledge to fall from the mud pot (representing our intellect) on our thoughts (seeds), our thinking becomes clear, positive and powerful. The seeds germinate meaning our efforts bear fruit. The flowers symbolise the emergence of divine virtues through this process.

Message for the day 10-10-2018
-----------------------------------------

The one who has the aim to be perfect is the one who learns from obstacles.

Expression:The higher the aim, the more the obstacles that comes one’s way. Just as a perfect idol is one that has been chiseled a great deal, each obstacle comes to remove some or the other defect from within. The one, who understands this little secret, is able to use each obstacle as a beautiful learning for growth, and a chance to express the best qualities from within.

Experience: When I am committed to bringing out my own inner perfection, I am never deterred by the temporary situations that come my way. I move on with confidence, taking time to look within and recognize the hidden potential within me. I am able to get closer and closer to the perfection that I always seek.
